Creative license was taken.

A world of its own.

The studio is where work and instinct meet. Ideas develop, interests evolve and the things gathered along the way become part of the creative process. It's a space that reflects an approach to design shaped as much by experience and curiosity as by any particular aesthetic.

The Practice

A work in progress.

Equal parts workspace and creative retreat. A place for ideas to take shape, samples to accumulate and inspiration to come from just about anywhere. The kind of room that will never be quite finished.

The Brief

An exercise in individuality.

Dusty rose walls, black scalloped cabinetry, reeded glass and a healthy dose of textile maxing. Pattern layered over pattern, textures and references drawn from different places and eras. An eclectic mix with a distinctly individual point of view.

Personal Effects

Acquired here, there and everywhere.

Art, books and curiosities gathered from around the world, each with a story of its own. The collection has grown over years of travel, finding its way into the studio and throughout Le Chalet. A cabinet de curiosités that continues to evolve.

The Shelves
Still life of collected objects: a ruby pendant with a brass tassel, an embroidered eye, a hand-painted antique plate, a green gilt-stamped French book, brass keys on a ribbon, agate stones and a carved wooden box
The Objects

The Desk
Leopard print pull-out sofa
"The best rooms have something to say about the people who live in them."

The Backdrop

Lost in the light.

Deer Valley on one side. The Jordanelle Reservoir on the other. Two rather spectacular views that provide a welcome contrast to everything happening inside.
